The person behind the legend

Who they are

Elric was twelve when raiders struck Lowmere Vale. Wounded and exhausted, he held an elderhouse doorway alone until a royal officer formally assumed the post. The Crown recognized a child who protected without praise and obeyed responsibility without supervision. Training did not create his discipline. It sharpened it.

Signature methods

How they fight

  • Holding a position after everyone else has retreated
  • Grappling an opponent rather than allowing it through
  • A flash of radiant power when ordinary correction seems insufficient
  • Completing an order exactly as given

Magic & stranger talents

What answers

  • Radiant power associated with the Sun Throne
  • Protective and punitive miracles shaped by oath and duty
  • No patience for magical shortcuts that bypass the purpose of a test

What people remember

The incidents that became stories.

Heroism, poor judgment, private grief, public embarrassment—usually in combinations nobody planned.

  1. 01

Held Lowmere Vale’s elderhouse alone at twelve and refused to leave until a royal officer formally relieved him.

  2. 02

Burned Eastmarch’s last royal child to ash when the boy attacked Maltraxis.

  3. 03

Placed his warhammer in Jeremy’s hands so the rescued child could execute two helpless prisoners.

  4. 04

Accepted the title ‘greased pig,’ ran squealing through the royal quarters, and ended the chase by declaring Hamdik a dingleberry.

From the road

Notes in their own voice

Reconstructed from the surviving campaign record—not verbatim transcripts, but faithful to the person revealed at the table.

Lowmere Vale

Relief had not arrived. Therefore the post was still mine.

The Gauntlet

A test exists to reveal whether you can meet its demand. Flying over it reveals only that you can fly.

The prisoners

The order was clear. Hesitation would not change the sentence.

People in their orbit

No one adventures alone, despite repeated efforts.

The Crown

The institution that recognized, trained, and defined his understanding of duty.

Alaryn Foxbound

An undisciplined but capable ally who treats Elric’s patience as a renewable resource.

Svetlana

A commander whose tests validate Elric’s belief that obedience keeps a unit intact.

Where the record stands

Alive in Sunspire. His obedience helped destroy Eastmarch, secure Prince Halric’s submission, and teach Jeremy what service to the Sun Throne looks like.
