The person behind the legend
Valeria trained Lucien to cultivate influence as carefully as a noble cultivates lineage. Officially he supports diplomacy at Maltraxis’s court. Unofficially he monitors, corrects, and mitigates allies whose behavior might embarrass Valeria. He joined after Wilfred’s death carrying too much luggage, a viol, and enough destructive magic to make the word ‘observer’ feel misleading.
