The person behind the legend

Who they are

Mruno fled the Deadlands with the Golden Minotaur Guild asking inconvenient questions about money and flesh. He was once the frontman of the Silken Sonics, a famous troupe that replaced him with the spectacularly untalented Dark Bronson. Mruno treats danger as an audience problem: control the room, set the rhythm, insult the enemy, and leave through a secret tunnel before the second riot begins.

Signature methods

How they fight

  • Vicious Mockery: an insult sharpened until it causes measurable harm
  • Bardic Inspiration delivered through music, encouragement, or panic
  • Dissonant Whispers that drive a target backward through its own fear
  • Dropping supernatural darkness over a room when the party needs to disappear

Magic & stranger talents

What answers

  • Dispel Magic, first used to tear away Susie’s disguise
  • Darkness and illusion for escapes and stagecraft
  • Words that inspire companions or destabilize enemies
  • Performance magic powerful enough to turn a tavern crowd into a second civic disturbance

What people remember

The incidents that became stories.

Heroism, poor judgment, private grief, public embarrassment—usually in combinations nobody planned.

  1. 01

Exposed Susie as a demon and then soiled his yellow pants during the resulting fight.

  2. 02

Created Bruno Bars, an undercover identity so convincing Grenak required an absurd moustache before recognizing him.

  3. 03

Founded the temporary Punch Drunk Loves and defeated Dark Bronson in the Battle of the Bards.

  4. 04

Has now helped cause riots in two towns, which is not officially a tour.

Caught at the table

From the actual transcript

Things they genuinely said during play. Profanity, questionable plans, and all. Obvious transcription errors have been lightly cleaned; the wording has not been rewritten.

Session 4Arriving in a new city with excellent situational awareness

Where the fuck is Elden Hall?

Session 7Defending his response to a demon reveal

You would have shit your britches too, okay?

Session 10Offering concise artistic direction

Get this fucking man out of here!

Session 12Taking attendance during a developing crisis

Where the fuck is my band?

From the road

Notes in their own voice

Reconstructed from the surviving campaign record—not verbatim transcripts, but faithful to the person revealed at the table.

The Susie incident

I was correct. She was a demon. History should focus on that and not on the color of my trousers afterward.

Bruno Bars

The disguise was flawless. Grenak merely lacks the artistic education to recognize subtle work without a giant moustache.

Dark Bronson

He believes the crowd was stunned into silence by genius. I almost respect the structural integrity of that delusion.

People in their orbit

No one adventures alone, despite repeated efforts.

Dark Bronson

Talentless replacement, professional nemesis, and proof that confidence is not music.

Carly Beltweek

Aggressively devoted fan and owner of the secret route that saved the party after the bard battle.

The Golden Minotaur Guild

Creditors, pursuers, and people apparently incapable of appreciating an artist’s cash-flow difficulties.

Where the record stands

Alive in Vaelthalas. The Golden Minotaur Guild is actively pursuing the party, so his past has become everybody’s present.
